Bands
Raised By Owls

Raised By Owls is an extreme metal band spawned from the depths of Derbyshire. Fusing together musical elements from various strains of metal and imbuing the lyrics with a humour moulded by misspent youths lived in rural England, Raised By Owls promises to provide you with a mild sonic disturbance, followed by an immediate apology.

Formed in 2015 by vocalist Sam Fowler, guitarist Alex LeGrice, and drummer Lee Deane, Raised By Owls was originally envisioned as a means of alleviating the boredom inherent to small-town life. After countless weekends spent in Alex's bedroom crafting music for their own enjoyment, the band decided to focus their efforts on writing and recording a full album. Released free of charge in October 2016, 'The Great British Grind Off' showcases the trio's shared love of heavy music and sardonic humour, picking on the bizarre quirks and cult figures unique to British culture. With a view to performing live, the band was brought to full strength with the addition of guitarist Mark Bainbridge and bassist Tobias Cope. Technically proficient and possessed of the same eccentric humour as the founders, Mark and Toby were viewed as the perfect fit for Raised By Owls.

With influences including Behemoth, Carcass, Napalm Death, and The Black Dahlia Murder, it is obvious as to what to expect from Raised By Owls. Their music is a no holds barred assault intended to pay homage to their influences as much as it is to purvey their own brand of warped comedy: the band strives to create technically challenging music that conveys their irreverent perspective of the world and they do so to great effect, with critics noting:

"Their appeal is not limited to getting one or two chuckles out of their listeners: they emulate and recreate the blackened grindcore sub-style with such talent and ease that it brilliantly adds to the over-the-top silliness that the five-piece has chosen to sing about."
- Far Beyond Written

"Raised By Owls have delivered what could be destined to become a cult classic. Great music with a gently twisted sense of humour, it demands to be heard."
- Totally Tankered

"Few bands have written albums as fun and engaging and varied as The Great British Grind Off. That this is only a debut album is an absolute testament to the amount of skill possessed by these lads."
- Toilet Ov Hell

Before they were in a position to perform live music, Raised By Owls worked to gather a small online following with whom they would share their music. The self-produced and self-released EP was made available online and saw the band utilise the creative talents of popular artist "Jim'll Paint It" to create an album cover that perfectly complements the eclectic nature of the lyrical content. The band understood the need to create a strong online presence as a means of expanding and engaging their fanbase and they continue to regularly update their followers. Social media has provided an ideal platform upon which to share the band's music videos, which take the form of short clips that perfectly communicate the ethos of Raised By Owls; that is, being amusing need not come at the cost of musical quality. Over the course of the past year, these videos have amassed more than nine million collective views on Facebook and continue to be a large factor in the band's expansion.

With the addition of Mark and Toby and a growing online presence, Raised By Owls is now well-equipped to bring its unique brand of noise to the unsuspecting people of Great Britain and grow their fanbase in a more conventional manner. Having played a number of shows across the UK, the band continues to realise its main goal: to write and perform music that will have audiences banging their heads and laughing in equal measure.

Bands
Cainites

Under the same mark of Cain and within the same universe filled with the eternal night, Cainites is the name of the melodic death metal duo oozing darkness and blood from every song of their debut album 'Revenant'.

From the ashes of the Italian gothic doom masters Motus Tenebrae, rise the two Orthodox vampire priests: Andrea Falaschi aka Frater Orion (Deathless Legacy, Motus Tenebrae, Rodedentro) on vocals drums and keyboards, and Daniele Ciranna (Motus Tenebrae) on guitars and bass.

In 'Revenant', they groan in the shadows they have been locked in for centuries, as punishment - the shadows of the vampires. They can’t end their endless lives, but just follow the most brutal survival instinct, that makes them feed on human blood.

"Revenant is a concept album that talks about an old Orthodox Priest who became a Vampire against his will. Oscillating between a sense of abandonment by the divine and moving away from the light, and the manifestation of a faith that is still present with continuous pleas to God to stop him from his relentless bloodshed, yearning for a redemption that cannot be reached."

Through their dark, melodic death metal influenced by Insomnium, The Vision Bleak, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bright, Septicflesh, they create their own mystique, portraying the curse and the mark they have to carry - that of those longing for the light they’ve been banned from, forever.

Bands
Tomorrow's Rain

The story of Tomorrow's Rain started in 2002 as vocalist Yishai Sweartz and bassist Maor Appelbaum (childhood friends) found themselves out of the bands they led - for Yishai it was Death Thrashers "Nail Within" and for Maor it was Gothic act "Sleepless". They were both depressed, frustrated, and hungry for a new form of expression. Maor came up with the name MOONSKIN and the musical path of a Dark Doomier kind of metal. The soulmates started to experiment at home and wrote their first song, "Trees". The first line-up of the band had Matan Shmueli (Orphaned Land) on drums, Gil Barrel on guitars, Tal Galfky on keyboards, Raffi More (Distorted) on guitars and a female singer, Beyana Kliener, to add a soft kind of singing to Swearts's deep voice.

With this line-up the band rehearsed hard for a year and played a local show for friends. Shortly after Moonskin and Beyana parted ways as Moonskin felt they didn't want a sound similar to the male/female gothic metal thing. The band recorded a song called "Embraced by Words" for a tribute album to Chuck Schuldiner (Death) released by Areadeath Productions. While other bands simply covered Death's songs, Moonskin wrote a song ABOUT Chuck and his inspiration as a lyricist and artist. As far as it is known "Embraced by Words" is the only song in the Metal world written about Chuck.
A few months after Moonskin appeared on the At the Gates tribute album "Slaughterous Souls", released by Goi Music. The band covered "Raped by the Light of Christ" with the help of guests Dori Bar Or (Eternal Gray) and Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land).

At the same time, while the creativity level reached new heights, Swearts and Appelbaum had to face some personal crises within the band: "Some of the band members became really ill. It had nothing to do with the band but rehearsals were insane as they had been isolating themselves from reality, driven by paranoia in its sickest form, which led to it being impossible for them to even leave home. It was clear that professional help was needed and we stayed friends and supported each other but it was a common agreement we had to go on".

In June 2006, still with this line-up, Moonskin played with EPICA in front of 800 Metalheads in Tel Aviv. Shortly after the band was put on ice by both Swearts and Appelbaum. "When we wrote the songs for what was supposed to be the debut album, we were both depressed and the writing was our process to clean our soul from the dirt and sorrow we had been through, but close to the EPICA show I got married. It was a happy time in my life. I could not lie to myself as an artist going on stage singing about feelings I don't feel anymore" said Swearts, "I lost motivation, Maor too. We kind of let it go. I tried to hide from those emotions, which was, in retrospect, a huge mistake".

Five years passed? Maor Appelbaum left Israel for Los Angeles and became one of the most famous mastering engineers on the Metal Scene, working on albums by Yngwie Malmsteen, Mayhem, Rob Halford, Therion and Faith No More. He became a father and got married. Yishai Swearts stayed in Israel, became a father, got divorced and made himself into a successful metal promoter in Israel, working with everyone from Paradise Lost to Megadeth and Sabaton.
But Yishai was doing some soul-searching for expression, salvation, aggression - let's call it Temptation? so in 2011 he called guitarist Raffi More and asked him to go on stage with a new line- up, supporting Swedish band DARK TRANQUILLITY in Tel Aviv.

The band renamed themselves TOMORROW'S RAIN, inspired by the song "Fragile" (STING), and put together a new line-up with both Swearts (vocals) More (guitars) and Shmueli (drums) and new members Elad Maidan (guitars) Alex Karlinski (keyboards) and ARAFEL's bass player Roman on bass.

Under the name TOMORROW'S RAIN the band played to a packed house with Dark Tranquillity and then disappeared into the unknown again?..
Four more years have passed? but the Rain keeps falling on the soul of original member Yishai Swearts. As he approached his 40th birthday, he felt he was missing great artistic expression in his life.

"With previous bands I played with, BETRAYER (1992-2000) and NAIL WITHIN (2000-2002), I had great times but I never felt the full sense of musical expression that I wanted to achieve. With MOONSKIN and later TOMORROW'S RAIN I felt it was there. I felt I was missing a big thing in my life and I felt that I had to make it a now-or-never thing".

In 2015 the guys were called to arms again, with his long-time friend and musical partner Raffy More on guitars, Alex Karlinski on keyboards, Yaggel Cohen on bass, Gal Schohat on drums and Itay Franklin on guitars TOMORROW'S RAIN were reborn - this time to stay.
On April the same year TOMORROW'S RAIN were supposed to play with Finnish Doomers SWALLOW THE SUN but felt that it was too early to hit the stage and they still needed a few more months in order to reshape the material, but Mikko Johannes, singer of SWALLOW THE SUN joined TOMORROW'S RAIN in the studio and recorded vocals on the band's song "In The Corner Of A Dead End Street" (written as MOONSKIN back in the day), which will appear on TOMORROW'S RAIN debut album.

"It was a great honor for us as SWALLOW THE SUN is a great band. In my opinion they released the best album in 2015 and they are great guys" said Yishai Sweartz.
On May 2016 it was announced that TOMORROW'S RAIN would play with Swedish band DRACONIAN in November.
2016 will be the year that things happen. The band is working on their debut album. Some song titles are "Trees", "Misery Rain", "In the Corner of a Dead End Street" and a few others, the band will play few selected local shows and some bigger shows and many things are to be announced later on?
This time the rain will fall?..

Artistic motto: "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring" (David Bowie).
Musical Inspirations: Fields Of The Nephilim, Paradise Lost, The Sisters of Mercy, My Dying Bride, old Katatonia, old Anathema, New Model Army, Bauhaus, old Opeth, Joy Division, Nick Cave, old Tiamat, The Mission, Morrissey and others? ?. All blended and cooked in our personal way - we don't sound like any one of them but surely we are inspired.

Bands
No Terror In The Bang

No Terror In The Bang is a progressive metal / cinematic metal band. It weave a chiaroscuro universe between fragility and fury. The band's name refers to a phrase by Alfred Hitchcock, evoking the calm before the storm and the tension of his films: "There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it." The band's songs alternate between dreams and nightmares, turbulence and frenzy.

If Volume I 'Eclosion' surprised metalheads with its duality between the primitive vitality of metal and the finesse of cinematic orchestration, Volume II 'Heal' drives the point home more brutally, with self-assumed "world" tracks that are by turns turbulent, touching and powerful.

Sofia Bortoluzzi's mezzo voice alternates between characters, clear and saturated vocals. Each of the band's tracks has a unique narrative atmosphere, somewhere between modern metal and dark film soundtracks, with suspense and climax.

Artistic direction is provided by drummer-composer Alexis Damien (Pin-Up Went Down, Void Paradigm, ex-Carnival In Coal live, etc.), along with Etienne Cochin (guitar), Clement Bernard (guitar), Brice Bouchard (bass) and Romain Greffe (keyboards). The album covers were created by photographer Louise Dumont.

The band's second album, 'Heal', is released on 12 January 24 on Klonosphere label / Season Of Mist / The Orchard / Sony.

Bands
Hans Platz

German guitarist Hans Platz started playing in bands at the age of 16 and called the stage his second home since then. He has many years of studio and live experience with several bands and for some years now, he plays in the band Feuerschwanz, with whom he was already able to celebrate two number one entries in the official german album charts and regularly plays in sold out venues. The band mixes rock and metal with german lyrics and traditional german medieval instruments like bagpipe, violin and flutes. Their latest album Fegefeuer was released on July 21th 2023 and landed again at Number #1 on the official German album charts!

He had lessons, among others, at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and learned at seminars from musicians like the gypsy jazz guitarist Joscho Stephan, Peter Wölpl or the swedish guitar wizard Mattias IA Eklundh, who also contributed a guest solo on Hans solo album to the song Deadman.

For the debut album of german act dArtagnan he has recorded all electric and a lot of the acoustic guitars in his own recording studio, where he has a wide a wide range of guitars, amps and effects at his disposal. He toured with the band and received a german gold award for more than 100.000 sold album copies.

For his solo album Timestamps Hans assembled world-class musicians like Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, Aristocrats), Fabio Trentini, Wolfgang Haffner (Passport, Metro), TM Stevens (James Brown, Joe Cocker, Steve Vai, Billy Joel) or Pete Griffin (Zappa plays Zappa, Paul Gilbert) and conjures from close to scratch a virtuoso instrumental album, that does not need to fear international comparison and was praised by the music press. Intelligent twisted compositions like Timestamps, Pull It Out or Spanish Race On A Devil’s Highway tie a rhythmic knot in the brain, which is only dissolved after repeated listening, while songs like Deadman or Birdrange go straight off.

In 2019 he created a couple of cover versions with music from the Game Of Thrones Soundtrack – Rock featuring violin and harp, bass being played by Stu Hamm (who played bass on Steve Vais iconic album Passion & Warfare).

In 2021 a new Band was born – together with Ad Infinitum singer and multi talent Melissa Bonny, harpist Jenny Diehl and Amaranthe drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen, THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON was formed! After hearing the first song, Napalm Records immediately signed the band to accompany the band from day one on their mission to transform musical themes of cinematography, TV shows and video games into powerful modern metal tracks! The contains also some original songs and wonderful guests like Rusanda Panfili (solo violinist of Hans Zimmer), Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie), Charlotte Wessels and Tom Englund (Evergrey). METAMORPHOSIS was released on May 12th, 2023 and instantly hit #17 on the official German album charts!

Bands
Mindlag Project

The band is born on the ashes of a former formation called Scarecrew, founded in 1995, which played a music influenced by Thrash and Heavy Metal. In 1999, Mindlag Project is created. It was originally a side-project of the members of Scarecrew, and finally become their priority.

It was originally componed of Manu Martinez (Guitar), Julien Martinez (Drums), Richard Mariette (Bass) and Nicolas "Nemo" Molina (Vocals) But quickly the line up has changed, and Mathieu Melero took the place of singer in the Band. In 2001, the band recruits Vincent Gross to insure the second guitar, and Gilles Gautier as a bassist.

In 2009, after the recording of their first LP, Romain Dallier, who has recorded the Cello in it, join the band as a full-time member.

In May 2009, Vincent Gross leaves the band, and will be replaced by Sylvain Cantrel (ex-Generis).

The band has released its first EP called Karybda in 2002, selfproduced and recorded in the studios All productions by Christian Carvin (which have also recorded bands like Eths and The More I See (the Metal band of Graham 'Gizz' Butt from the Prodigy)).

Karybda has been distributed through Musicast from 2003.

Mindlag Project makes his teeth on stage, and soon the association Hybride is created, in order to organize Metal concerts in their country, and to promote the French Metal scene. During several years, they've organised two festivals a year; the Hybride Festival and the Open Festival; and have programmed the most famous French metal bands At these occasions, the band has shared the scene with Gojira, Eths, Hed PE, Dagoba, Hacride, Aqme, Tagada Jones.

In 2004, the band returns in studio with Christian Carvin, to record Skylla, a logical following to Karybda, referring to the proverb "to fall between Scylla and Charybdis". The band achieves his goal, and is signed by the label Customcore records. This album will first be distributed in France through Overcome records, and in North America, through Great White North Records. These distribution companies have stopped their activities, and it is now distributed in USA and Asia through Good Life.

In 2006, Mindlag Project decides to record "De Charybde en Scylla..." an EP, in order to make a transition, mostly in their concept, between their "dyad" and their first LP. After the release of this EP, the band starts to record their first LP, and decides not to stop working until they're fully satisfied of the album. They entrust the strings arrangements to Romain Dallier, which is now a full-time member of the band.

In October 2008, the band organizes a release party, to present their new album to their audience before releasing it, and on that occasion, they also screen a short film produced the short movie by Manu and his collaborators from the association Kathar6, which he presides. This film traces the childhood of Jon De Grimpclat.

This self-titled album is released on march 2009 on the label Pervade Productions, and is physically distributed through Socadisc over Europe. It also digitally distributed through Believe digital.

After a French tour as headliner in October 2009, the band participates to its first European tour with Six Feet Under and Illdisposed on May 2010.

The band has appeared in some Streetcult compilations in Usa, with among other bands, Fear Factory, Skinlab, Otep, Leaves' Eyes, Tristania, Snot, Anti-Flag, and on FrenchMetal compilations in France, with bands like Samael or Punish Yourself.
